AIME Industry Training Courses
In 2010, following positive engagement with the Industry regulator PhonepayPlus, AIME developed a Premium Rate Services course for PhonepayPlus and sucessfully ran 10 training days with their Executive staff.
"PhonepayPlus was pleased to partner with AIME on a programme of industry training for our staff. We were impressed by the breadth of content covered in an accessible and interactive format. The course content was well-researched and objective. Attendee feedback has been positive and we intend to make this course a stable of our training programme."
Bradley Brady, PhonepayPlus
Based on the highly-acclaimed training for PhonepayPlus, AIME has developed the course in to a one day training package for industry professionals’ needs. In 2011 AIME held 10 training days and has now trained over 100 Industry and PhonepayPlus delegates.
In the era of the Pp+ 12th Code, there are new obligations throughout the PRS value-chain, and the implications are that new levels of staff knowledge are required. Undoubtedly members already perform training, but on an ad hoc basis, when time allows. The AIME course enables members to outsource this staff development obligation to their trade association.
The full-day course provides:
- Consumer Insight
- Customer Service requirements
- Industry structure and value chains
- Players, terminology and roles and responsibilities
- PRS products – fixed and mobile, through to apps stores
- PRS services
- Technology developments and converged platforms
- Promotion of services – legacy and digital
- Regulatory Overview and Pp+ 12th Code of Practice
Based on delegate feedback so far, the course has been rated 4.6 out of 5 showing it is clear that it’s not just for new starters, but it is an ideal refresher for more experienced staff, and also for “back office” functions wanting greater industry knowledge, especially with the 12th Code in place.

Attendee feedback:
"We’d like to express our thanks for the excellent AIME PRS foundation course. It was informative and the course literature was valuable. Jeremy Flynn is an engaging course leader and presents material clearly, interactively and thought provokingly. We’d recommend the day as a worthwhile introduction to Premium Rate services. It should be essential learning for those new to the industry, or for those seeking a refresher - especially in light of rapidly changing legislation and constantly evolving technologies. Well done for venturing where none have gone before."
Will Douglas, Business Development Manager, Xonadu and X-on
"I found the Foundation Course very useful. It gave an extremely comprehensive romp through the whole gamut of PRS services and the current and pending regulation. It was of immense value to have Jeremy Flynn with his vast knowledge and experience of the industry running the course and able to share his insights into the challenges ahead and the pressures on the PRS industry."
Wendy Ward, Senior Regulatory and Contract Specialist, BT agilemedia
"A big thank you to AIME for setting up and running the PRS Foundation Course. Even though the course was fairly intensive - there was A LOT of information to take in in one day - the pace of the course was set just right and there was a relaxed atmosphere.I learnt a lot from Jeremy, the course tutor, from his own experiences working within the industry and also the other attendees who all worked in different areas of the industry. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to refresh their PRS knowledge and get up to speed on the developments in this fast growing industry."
Holly Fairweather, Audience Interaction Manager, Channel 4
