AIME elects Ed Boddington of Harvest Media as new Chairman
The Association for Interactive Media & Entertainment (AIME) – the leading trade body in the interactive media sector – is pleased to announce that Ed Boddginton, CEO and Founder of Harvest Media Group, has been elected as Chairman of the AIME Board.
In his role as chairman Ed will oversee and steer AIME through its various core functions including representing AIME members’ interests to industry regulatory bodies such as Ofcom, PhonePayPlus and the ASA, and also help members to connect with each other through various initiatives to advance all forms of Interactive Media business.
Ed Boddington (“Bod”) founded Harvest Media Group in 2004 after selling his UK business, Telescope UK to iTouch PLC in 2002. Telescope was founded in 1998 and grew rapidly to become a world record breaker with its voting management platform for the “Pop Idol” TV series in 2002 on behalf of FremantleMedia and ITV.
Bod serves as the Group CEO of Harvest, which owns two subsidiaries, Harvest UK and Telescope Inc in the United States. Harvest UK, based in London provides interactive services for a number of leading TV brands including The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, as well as programmes for the BBC.
“I am delighted to accept the position of AIME Chairman. It’s a great opportunity to carry on the great work already done by AIME in bringing the Interactive industry together and driving further innovation in this sector,” said Boddginton.
Jeremy Flynn, Vice-Chairman of AIME, said: “Bod is a very experienced leader in Interactive Media, with a wealth of knowledge from running his own media participation services company, and until recently from being an industry representative on the board of industry regulator PhonepayPlus.
“Bod replaces Sally Weatherall, who led the board through a period of substantial regulatory bodies’ interest in interactive media. Bod’s appointment reinforces AIME as the number one trade body for interactive media and entertainment, with a membership throughout the value chain.” Flynn added.
